The Dark Archive podcast - an un-realised idea

 

It was conceived as a sound and image internet-based project. It was designed primarily as a website and as content for global internet dissemination through pre-existing podcast broadcast platforms. The format would feature still and moving images and meticulous audio production.

 

The themes of the work are issues of the power of information set against contemporary attitudes to privacy and self-determination.

 

Using the fictional framework of an all but abandoned dark archive the work will unfold around the central character of the archivist and the items she uncovers.

 

The project would also explore internet networks and interactivity and issues of authorship through inviting audience contribution to the dark archive's fictional collection.
